  • $30 to $38 per hour depending on experience.

  • Winter hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm M-F.

Title Machine Operator
Salary $28 per hour depending on experience

On-Track Railway Operations is looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to run Excavator with third boom and dangle head log grapple. You will start in our Edmonton yard and then transfer to an out of town main line position. Our yard is northeast of Edmonton near the intersection of 18th street and 259th avenue.

We are a railroad material handling contractor based in Edmonton for over 30 years. Our projects are across Western Canadian Railroads. We handle railroad ties, rail and all other materials associated with the railroad.

  • $28 per hour to start  
  • We pay weekly by direct deposit.
  • 9 or 10 month season (12 months if the winter is mild)
  • Overtime paid after 8 hours per day
  • Plenty of opportunity for overtime
  • We never get rained out
  • Must be prepared to work out of town
  • Travel time, room and board paid for out of town projects
  • 10 and 4 cycle

Title Human Resource Generalist
Salary $37,500 to $45,250

As On-Track Railway Operations continues to grow, the admin staff can no longer easily share the duties of managing our Human Resources. We need a full time, permanent Human Resources Manager to handle the HR general duties. We employ over 40 people, with most of them working outside the Edmonton area.

Our Office is located northeast of Edmonton near the intersection of 18th street and 259th avenue.

 Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent in Human Resources
  • CHRP designation is a strong asset
  • 5 years of related HR Generalist experience in a professional environment
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • In-depth comprehension of employment law and human rights
  • Must be self-directed, task and goal oriented

 HR Manager:

  • Administer employee development, training and health and safety programs
  • Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs
  • Update and maintain all employee related policies.
  • Organize and inform employees on employment policy and benefits
  • Direct the organization’s quality management program
  • Ensure compliance with legislations
  • Arrange for in-house and external training activities
  • Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs
  • Research employee benefit and health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies.
  • Determine eligibility to entitlements, and provide information or services such as employee assistance, counseling and recognition programs
  • Author and distribute monthly newsletter to all employees

 Personnel Clerk

  • Process, verify and register documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations and classifications
  • Maintain and update manual and computerized filing and registration systems, and compile and prepare reports and documents relating to personnel activities
  • Respond to telephone and written enquiries from staff and the general public regarding personnel matters
  • Maintain and manage employee sign in/out records (cell phones, credit cards and radios ect.)
  • Maintain human resources information and related records systems
  • Liaison between employees and Edward Jones investment program  

Recruitment:

  • Identify current and prospective staffing requirements. Arrange for advertising or posting of job vacancies
  • Assist in screening and rating of job applicants, and conduct reference checks
  • Administer and score employment tests
  • Advise job applicants on employment requirements and on terms and conditions of employment
  • Review candidate inventories and contact potential applicants to arrange interviews
  • Participate in selection and examination boards to evaluate candidates
  • Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers
  • Organize and administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
  • Negotiate disputes and co-ordinate termination of employment process

Title Hy-Rail Boom Truck Operator
Salary $32 / hour
Location Western Canada
Job Information

On-track Railway Services requires Experienced Class 3 Boom Truck Operator to operate a Hy-Rail boom truck on and off the railroad tracks. Our boom trucks are equipped with self loading pickers.

Railway experience is an asset, but not required. You must have boom truck experience with anything like knuckle Boom, stinger, crane or self loader.
We are a railroad material handling contractor based in Edmonton for over 30 years. Our projects are in and around Edmonton and Western Canada. We handle railroad ties, rail and all materials associated with the railroad.

 
We pay living expenses while working away from the Edmonton area. Our boom truck operators traditionally work a lot of overtime which we pay at time and a half after 8 hours a day.

Wages up to $32 per hour after railway training and certification on the boom truck. We have a benefit package and RRSP contributions. We pay weekly by direct deposit.
